Mutzi and the Mob

People stepped aside when Mutzi Kratish came down the street, careless of the noonday sun. The consigliere suspected he had connections with Murder, Incorporated. He told the boss, “Uh, let’s just cross the street right here. I’ve heard rumors about this guy.” He was small, he was smart, he had presence of mind. There was something about him you couldn’t define. But when Mutzi Kratish approached, they all made room for him, even the Mob. They averted their gaze, and let a genuine businessman get down to business. That was my friend and inspiration, Mutzi of Miami.
